Design & construction
Developed over three years of testing and refinement, the Performance X Carbon Mast is the most efficient mast in the Armstrong range. The thin 12 mm profile delivers significant drag reduction over thicker mast sections, while the 106 mm chord reduces turning resistance for a quicker roll rate and a looser, more reactive feel through direction changes. UHM carbon and a refined layup add 10% torsional and 10% bending stiffness with no increase in weight.
Updated mast top and fuselage interfaces remove material where it is not required and reinforce key load areas, improving load transfer and hydrodynamic efficiency. Rake angles are tuned per mast length for balanced lift, easier pumping, and longer glide through maneuvers — including smooth transitions when riding bumps or packing away a parawing.
