What the shape does
The V works a little like a keel: it gives the tail grip against roll and yaw that a flat stabilizer has to buy with surface area. On the water that reads as straighter tracking through chop, cleaner transitions, and a foil that doesn't wander at speed. The lower drag is the second half of the deal — it's a long-session tail.
It isn't the loosest thing in the range and doesn't try to be. What it sells is precision: stable enough to trust, agile enough to keep up as your riding gets sharper.
