Time 2 Wing becomes Towtrips: a travel agency for tow foil enthusiasts
VILA NOVA DE MILFONTES, Portugal — Time 2 Wing, the Armstrong demo center and foil operation on Portugal’s Alentejo coast, has rebranded to Towtrips (towtrips.com). The new name marks a full focus on tow foiling — a segment founder Lars van der Veen expects to keep growing, as it lets foilers experience wave riding in its purest form.
Towtrips runs out of Vila Nova de Milfontes, a prime foil destination with clear blue water, uncrowded waves and a stunning backdrop.
“As we were teaching wingfoiling, we realised the wind wasn’t always there,” says Van der Veen. “What was consistent out here were the waves, especially in winter. Wave riding has always been the thing I love most — offering towfoil sessions ticked every box.”
The company started in the Netherlands in 2021 as a wingfoil school and Armstrong dealer, moved to Portugal in 2022 and ran its first commercial towfoil session in 2023.
“You can now book your towfoil sessions directly online and be riding Atlantic swell the next day,” says Van der Veen about the new platform. “We currently run two jetskis, but with demand where it is, our third one will be ready soon.”
For foilers who want to go deeper than riding, Towtrips is developing a towfoil driver course — a hands-on program built around the driving, the water and the rescue. The waitlist is open at towtrips.com/driver-course.
